MWAN Launches 27 Investment Opportunities Worth over SAR2 Billion in Waste Management Sector

The National Center for Waste Management (MWAN) has launched 27 investment opportunities to develop and operate 33 facilities across several regions of Saudi Arabia. The projects, undertaken in partnership with five municipalities, have a combined value of more than SAR2 billion.
 The initiative aims to increase private-sector participation, develop waste management infrastructure, and support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The opportunities include facilities for treating construction and demolition waste, medical and slaughterhouse waste, and municipal solid waste sorting.
 The investment opportunities are distributed across several regions. Madinah has seven projects worth up to SAR780 million, while Makkah has two worth SAR96.8 million. Dammam has 13 projects valued at SAR973 million, Tabuk has one worth SAR34 million, and Qassim Region has four worth up to SAR235 million.
 Together, the projects cover more than 1.8 million square meters and have the capacity to process up to 7 million tons of waste. The waste is expected to be diverted from landfills and directed toward treatment and recovery pathways, increasing the environmental and economic benefits of the investments.
