GCC Secretary-General: Advisory Board Strengthens Coordination and Joint Gulf Action

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi stressed that the decision to establish the Advisory Board by the GCC leaders stems from their deep-seated conviction in the necessity of broadening consultation and intensifying communication among member states.

These remarks were delivered during the first meeting of the board’s 29th session held in Manama today.

Albudaiwi highlighted the importance of strengthening the Advisory Board's role and supporting the implementation of studies approved by the Supreme Council. He further emphasized the development of work mechanisms to integrate roles between the board, the ministerial committees, and the GCC General Secretariat, and fulfill the directives of the GCC member state leaders.

He added that the board has enriched the council's progress with more than 62 studies covering various subjects. "Today, the General Secretariat continues to follow up on the implementation of the studies approved by the Supreme Council into joint action plans that support this journey, respond to the aspirations of GCC citizens, and fulfill the directives and expectations of the Supreme Council," he stated.
