Saudi Security Personnel: Humanitarian Scenes Repeated Every Year

During Hajj, security personnel are not only responsible for maintaining order, protecting pilgrims, and ensuring their safety. They are also an integral part of the Kingdom's culture of hospitality, welcoming pilgrims from the moment they arrive through the Kingdom's entry points until they complete their rituals in Makkah and the holy sites and conclude their visit to Madinah.
At airports and border crossings across the Kingdom, a journey of reassurance begins and extends to roads, accommodations, residential facilities, neighborhoods, and the holy sites. This atmosphere accompanies pilgrims throughout their journey, from the Talbiyah and their stay in Mina to their movement to Arafat and Muzdalifah, and through the stages of stoning the Jamarat, performing tawaf and sa’i, and visiting the Two Holy Mosques.
Security personnel from various security and military sectors are present wherever pilgrims are found. They welcome them, organize movement in convoys, buses, and pedestrian routes, manage crowds in the Two Holy Mosques and the holy sites, and provide support and care for elderly pilgrims and persons with disabilities.
The relationship between pilgrims and security personnel has become a unique one, built over the years on trust, respectful interaction, and sincere prayers for acceptance and a future return to the holy sites. It has become one of the most remarkable aspects of the Hajj experience, renewed each year and preserved in photographs, visual memories, and the hearts of those who witness these humanitarian scenes.
