Second Session of Saudi-Niger Joint Committee Meetings Held in Niamey

Meetings of the second session of the Saudi-Niger Joint Committee were held in the Nigerien capital Niamey between April 28 and 29 to discuss ways to develop, support, and advance relations between the two.

 The Kingdom’s delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture for Agriculture Dr. Suliman Al-Khateeb, with the participation of several leaders and officials from relevant entities across various sectors.

 Both sides agreed to form three subcommittees to study the items on the session’s agenda, including the committee on legal, political, diplomatic, and security affairs; the committee on economy and trade (trade and investment), industry, communications, customs, mining, energy, transport, agriculture, livestock, hydraulics, environment, and sanitation; in addition to the committee on education, health, culture, crafts, tourism, scientific research, refinancing, social and religious values, population, social work, and national solidarity.

 The meetings discussed ways to enhance cooperation and explore new areas of partnership across several fields, including legal, political, diplomatic, security, and defense issues, in addition to economic, commercial, and industrial affairs (trade and investment), communications, customs, mining, petroleum, energy, and transport, as well as issues related to education, health, culture, crafts and tourism, scientific research, population, re-establishment, social and religious values, youth, and sports.
