NCVC Showcases Saudi Arabia's Sustainability Leadership at Earthna Summit 2025
A delegation from the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) participated in the recent Earthna Summit 2025 in Doha, Qatar, alongside representatives from international, regional, and global organizations.
The second edition of the Earthna Summit focused on advancing sustainability through innovation and knowledge. It addressed the sustainability of communities in hot and arid regions by examining their environmental, economic, and social dimensions. The summit also highlighted environmental challenges in these areas, facilitated the exchange of expertise, and shared best practices in sustainable agriculture, natural resource conservation, and climate change adaptation.
During its participation, the NCVC delegation highlighted Saudi Arabia’s pioneering efforts in developing and preserving mangrove forests, supporting local communities through volunteer initiatives, and promoting mangrove honey production. These initiatives received significant praise from summit participants and attendees.
The NCVC continues its extensive implementation of initiatives, programs, and projects aimed at fostering a thriving and sustainable vegetation cover across Saudi Arabia. These efforts entail protecting, conserving, and enhancing vegetation, rehabilitating degraded lands, restoring biodiversity in natural ecosystems, supervising rangeland and national park management and investment, monitoring vegetation-related violations, combating illegal logging nationwide, and safeguarding natural resources. This aligns with the NCVC’s vision of establishing a flourishing, diverse vegetation cover that strengthens environmental sustainability and enhances quality of life.
