Formula E Set for Season 12’s First Double-Header Under Lights in Jeddah

The Jeddah Corniche Circuit will host Rounds 4 and 5 of Season 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship under the lights on February 13 and 14, marking the season’s first double-header.

The championship battle is heating up, with only seven points separating the top five drivers after the opening three rounds.

The Jeddah double-header will see the return of the PIT BOOST system, used in only one race, adding a new strategic dimension to the competition. The mid-race feature provides drivers with a 10% power increase through a 30-second 600 kW recharge, which must be executed when battery levels are between 40% and 60%.

Each team may use only one PIT BOOST rig, preventing double-stacking and introducing an additional element of race strategy that could influence outcomes.

Drivers may use one ATTACK MODE activation per race for six minutes. This 2026 Jeddah E-Prix, held under the lights at night, presents unique challenges compared to daytime events.

Cooler track temperatures reduce tire wear but can make it difficult for drivers to bring tires up to optimal temperature, affecting grip during critical moments. At the same time, lower air temperatures improve battery efficiency and performance.
