
Sharqia Development Authority Announces Launch of Khobar Season 2025
The Sharqia Development Authority on Sunday announced the launch of Khobar Season 2025 during a media briefing held at the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Science and Technology Center (Scitech).
The season is organized with the support of the authority and the Saudi Tourism Authority, in partnership with the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), along with an array of sponsors and partners from both the public and private sectors.
Acting CEO of the Sharqia Development Authority Talal Almaghlouth stated that Khobar Season, which will run from October 23 to January 31, 2026, will serve as a major contributor to the local economy, boosting hotel occupancy rates and stimulating the hospitality and retail sectors. It will also strengthen Eastern Region’s position as a premier national destination for culture, tourism, and entertainment, reflecting its vibrancy and cultural and social diversity.
He added that total projected spending during the season is expected to exceed SAR85 million, underscoring the significant positive economic impact on Al-Khobar and its facilities. The season is also expected to generate more than 7,200 direct and indirect job opportunities, supporting national talent and enhancing youth participation in the events and tourism sectors.
