King Khalid International Airport Sets Record: 37 Million Passengers, 86% On-Time Departures in 2024

King Khalid International Airport, managed and operated by Riyadh Airports Company, achieved significant milestones in 2024, reflecting the burgeoning aviation sector in Saudi Arabia. The airport recorded a remarkable surge in passenger traffic, exceeding 37 million passengers throughout the year.

 Operational excellence was a hallmark of 2024. The airport achieved an impressive on-time departure performance, leading the industry with an 86% on-time departure rate. This exceptional performance was underpinned by a series of strategic enhancements, including the addition of 15 new airline partners, the inauguration of five new duty-free areas, and the opening of 29 new retail outlets, catering to the diverse needs of passengers with an array of services, from pharmacies and relaxation lounges to cafes and restaurants.

 The airport experienced unprecedented passenger volumes throughout the year, culminating in a record-breaking day on August 1, 2024, with over 131,000 passengers traversing its terminals. Furthermore, June 13, 2024, witnessed a remarkable operational feat with 903 flights successfully departing or arriving at the airport.

 In 2024, King Khalid International Airport served 269,000 flights, connecting Riyadh to 113 domestic and international destinations, solidifying its position as a vital gateway to the Kingdom.

 CEO of Riyadh Airports Company Ayman Abdulaziz AboAbah said that these achievements signify the remarkable growth trajectory of King Khalid International Airport. He underscored the airport's pivotal role in supporting the strategic development aspirations of both Riyadh and the Kingdom as a whole, solidifying its position as a key driver of economic growth and a vital gateway to the world.
