Eastern Region Municipality Awards Major Contract for Abqaiq Industrial Zone Development

The Eastern Region Municipality has announced awarding and signing a contract for the construction, operation, maintenance, development, and management of the industrial zone in Abqaiq Governorate. The zone is designated for light industries, support services, industrial workshops, and light and consumer industrial activities. The 25-year project will be implemented according to the highest internationally approved standards in the field of industrial development.

 The municipality noted that the new investment project will adopt a comprehensive methodology based on the latest international standards in industrial zone design. It will establish an integrated industrial cluster spanning an area of 391,464 square meters, with easy access to vital facilities. Plot sizes range from 600 to 2,792 square meters, enhancing logistical operations and enabling investors to meet market needs efficiently.

 The project aims to provide a stimulating work environment through advanced infrastructure and integrated services, contributing to economic and social development, enhancing competitiveness, and supporting sustainable industrial growth in the governorate. It represents a strategic turning point in revitalizing and redeveloping the old industrial zone, in line with the highest technical, architectural, and regulatory standards. This step will increase the zone’s readiness to attract quality investments and offers a promising opportunity to improve municipal asset efficiency and support sustainable economic development in the governorate and the wider region.

 The project stands out for its diverse investment activities, including industrial complexes, light workshops, service centers, auto dismantling yards, specialized industrial workshops, showrooms and exhibitions, warehouses, and a variety of general and social support services. These elements are expected to boost revenue growth, support financial sustainability, and generate numerous investment and employment opportunities.
