Second Golden Sands Hiking Event Held in Al-Baha Winter 2025 Activities
As part of the Al-Baha Winter 2025 activities, the Droob AlSarawat Sports Association (DSSA) today held the second Golden Sands Hiking event at Nawan Center in Al-Makhwah Governorate, under the supervision of the regional branch of the Ministry of Sport, in cooperation with the Saudi Climbing and Hiking Federation, Al-Baha Municipality, and several government and security entities in Al-Makhwah Governorate.
The event aimed to highlight the diverse geographical landscape of Al-Makhwah Governorate, introduce visitors and residents to the area’s natural and tourism assets, and showcase the region’s rich environmental and historical diversity.
The director of the Ministry of Sport branch in Al-Baha Region, Bandar Al-Ghamdi, explained that these programs fall within the calendar of Al-Baha Winter events and aim to stimulate sports activity in the region, enrich the sports scene with various activities, strengthen community programs, and contribute to achieving the objectives of the Ministry of Sport’s strategy.
DSSA board chairman Mohammed Al-Zahrani stated that the program seeks to raise awareness of the importance of nature and its role in the life of sports practitioners, noting that the event is part of a package of approved, diverse, and purposeful programs and activities implemented by the association, with the participation of more than 50 participants.
