King Saud University Tops Arab Institutions in Ophthalmology Research Output
A study published in the Journal of Nature and Science of Medicine has ranked King Saud University (KSU) first among Arab institutions in ophthalmology research output, contributing 1,910 publications out of 11,376 Arab publications in the field, representing 16.79% of total Arab research output.
The bibliometric study analyzed publications indexed in the Web of Science database from 1980 to July 2025, covering publication trends, citation patterns, author productivity, and research collaboration networks. It encompassed 1,701 KSU-affiliated publications, garnering more than 32,000 scientific citations at an average of 18.97 per publication.
The achievement reflects KSU's continued research excellence and contributes to enhancing the Kingdom's regional and international standing in scientific research and innovation, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
