Buraidah Date Carnival Opens to Showcase Qassim's Palm Heritage
Organized by the National Center for Palms and Dates, the Buraidah International Date Carnival opened today south of Buraidah city, drawing strong turnout from farmers, traders, and importers. The event runs through October 14.
One of the largest date markets in the world and a Guinness World Record holder, the carnival attracts participants and visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom.
The carnival reflects Qassim Region's leading position in the palm and date sector, which encompasses nearly 11 million palm trees with an annual production of approximately 578,000 tons. The sector generates SAR3.2 billion in economic returns and creates over 4,000 jobs.
