Diriyah Dates Festival Concludes with High Visitor Turnout and Strong Sales
The Diriyah Dates Festival 1446, organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture in Diriyah Governorate, concluded successfully with notable visitor turnout and strong sales volumes. Held in the Al-Rehab neighborhood, the festival featured participation from local farmers, government sectors, and various associations, providing a platform for farmers to showcase and sell their date products.
Visitors and participants praised the efforts of the Riyadh branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, as the festival offered a vibrant marketplace displaying different varieties of dates produced by Diriyah farms. Types such as Dakhini, Al-Maqfazi, Al-Khudri, Al-Sellaj, Al-Munifi, and Al-Juffair were among those showcased, attracting a wide range of buyers.
The festival featured a rich program catering to all age groups, including a theater and drawing area for children. Exhibitions such as the Guidance Caravan Exhibition, the My Friend the Palm Exhibition, and the Palm Components Exhibition were also part of the event. Additionally, sections for handicrafts, productive families, and mobile carts enhanced the cultural experience for attendees.
In conjunction with date-related activities, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority organized an event to mark World First Aid Day, with children's participation. The Riyadh Third Health Cluster provided health services, offering vital signs checkups and awareness programs for early detection of breast cancer, colon cancer, and rectal cancer.
The festival aimed to increase marketing opportunities for local farmers, attract purchasing power, and promote the date production and manufacturing sectors. By fostering greater exposure for Diriyah’s date products and boosting sales, the festival achieved its objectives, highlighting its importance as a key event for the local agricultural community.
