Ithra Opens Exhibition of Finalist Artworks for Seventh Art Prize

King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) opened an exhibition showcasing the shortlisted works for the seventh edition of the Ithra Art Prize, a biennial award that supports contemporary art in the Arab world.

 The prize supports shortlisted artists with funding and provides an international platform to present their artistic projects, fostering cultural dialogue through diverse artistic practices. The winning work will also be added to the Ithra Museum's permanent collection.

 Head of Ithra Museum Farah Abushullaih said the exhibition reflects the continued evolution of the Ithra Art Prize as a dynamic platform for artistic production and cultural dialogue. She added that presenting the shortlisted works gives visitors a deeper opportunity to engage with the ideas, creative processes, and visions shaping contemporary art across the region.

 The exhibition marks a significant milestone in the prize's development, bringing together all shortlisted works on a single public platform for the first time. The initiative aims to strengthen dialogue with regional and international audiences while supporting the artistic practices of participating artists and enriching their creative legacy.

 The winner will be announced at the end of October, and the winning artwork will be acquired for inclusion in Ithra's permanent art collection.
