Saudi Arabia: An Integrated System and Quality Efforts to Serve the Guests of the Merciful… and the Center for Government Communications as a Window to the World
With each Hajj season, feelings of pride and honor are renewed in Saudi Arabia—both among its leadership and its people—in bearing the great responsibility and high privilege of serving the Two Holy Mosques and welcoming their visitors from all over the world. This honor, deeply rooted in the Kingdom’s history and passed down through generations, represents the cornerstone of its leading role in the Islamic world. As intensive preparations for this year’s Hajj season (1446 AH) unfold, the tireless and integrated efforts of various government sectors are evident, ensuring that the rituals are performed with ease, convenience, and safety. This has been affirmed by the Council of Ministers, which expressed pride in this sacred service and extended a warm welcome to the Guests of the Merciful.
At the heart of these integrated efforts, the Ministry of Media, represented by the Center for Government Communications(CGC), stands out as a strategic partner in highlighting the extensive work and dedication the Kingdom exerts to serve the pilgrims. The CGC has successfully reinforced the principle of transparency, opening effective and direct communication channels between officials and local and international media. This provides the world with a clear and reliable picture of the preparations and high-quality facilities being provided for the Guests of the Sacred House of Allah.
The 22nd Government Press Conference, entirely dedicated to reviewing the latest Hajj preparations, was a testament to this pivotal role. Attended by the Ministers of Media, Hajj and Umrah, Transport, and Health, along with members of the Supreme Hajj Committee, a comprehensive and detailed presentation was delivered on all plans and initiatives. This reflects the high level of coordination and integration among various government entities to deliver an exceptional Hajj experience.
His Excellency the Minister of Media, Mr. Salman bin Youssef Al-Dosari, emphasized during the conference that the Kingdom—guided by the directives of the wise leadership and in line with the objectives of Vision 2030—places serving the Guests of the Merciful at the forefront of its priorities. It mobilizes all resources to facilitate their rituals, enhance the quality of services provided, and enrich their spiritual and cultural experience. He also praised the awareness and security role of the "No Hajj Without a Permit" campaign in crowd management and ensuring the safety of authorized pilgrims.
His Excellency Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah noted that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced the arrival of over one million pilgrims so far, confirming the high readiness and early preparations. These have included finalizing initial arrangements, holding numerous preparatory meetings, and signing hundreds of agreements to ease the pilgrims’ journey. Additionally, the "Nusuk Path" platform has been developed, services digitized, and the "Nusuk" card updated to provide pilgrims with comprehensive information.
For its part, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, represented by His Excellency Engineer Saleh Al-Jasser, detailed the preparation of thousands of flights and millions of seats across various transport means, including the Haramain High-Speed Railway and the Mashair Train. The Public Transport Center has been launched, along with the deployment of thousands of buses and taxis, road maintenance, and the expanded use of rubberized asphalt and road-cooling technologies for pilgrims' comfort.
His Excellency Minister of Health, Mr. Fahd Al-Jalajel, stressed the readiness of the healthcare system, with over 50,000 medical and technical personnel prepared. Clinical capacity has been increased, hospitals and health centers equipped, emergency points and ambulances deployed, and helicopters made available. Preventive measures to combat heatstroke have been implemented, alongside multilingual awareness campaigns.
Beyond the pivotal coordination and informational role of the Ministry of Media and the CGC, the second edition of the "Hajj Media Forum" was launched, with the participation of thousands of journalists to convey the Kingdom’s efforts and the atmosphere of Hajj to the world. The Saudi Broadcasting Authority has also mobilized all its resources to produce reports, programs, and live coverage of Hajj events in multiple languages.
These integrated efforts, combining the capabilities of all government sectors, reflect the wise leadership’s commitment to providing the best services to the Guests of the Merciful, enabling them to perform their rituals in a spiritually uplifting, comfortable, and secure environment. Center for Government Communications and the Ministry of Media remain essential partners in showcasing this noble work and reinforcing the Kingdom’s bright image in serving Islam and Muslims worldwide.
