For his part, director of the General Directorate of Traffic, Major General Mohammed al-Bassami said: “I take this opportunity to extend gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince for empowering the Saudi woman to drive her private car in the Kingdom. We look forward to a new phase for promoting the culture of the traffic safety among members of the Saudi community and bringing up children on knowing rules of the public safety in order to reduce traffic accidents and the resulting human and material losses.
We have been keen to participate in organizing these events in collaboration with the sponsors in a way that confirms and enhances the role of the family in raising the level of traffic safety. This role has repeatedly been confirmed by the Minister of Interior affirming that the driving of the woman should turn into an educational practice for the purpose of reducing human and economic losses caused by accidents.
