Nazaha: an increase of 50% in the reports received by the National Anti-Corruption Commission during 2018
Following the Kingdom's efforts to fight financial and administrative corruption, and as a result of the confidence of citizens and residents, the number of reports received by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (Nazaha) increased during the fiscal year (2018) to reach (15,591), Compared to the financial year 2017, which amounted to (10402), and (6482) in 2016.
Reports under the commission's jurisdiction exceeded 46% with 7421 reports. Financial and administrative corruption cases topped most of the reports by 74.3%. The reports of administrative misuse accounted for most cases with 28.9%. Cases of embezzlement wasting, squandering public money, came second by 17.6%, and the issues of exploiting the influence of a position by 15.9%. The percentage of requests for whistleblower protection reached 0.4%.
Nazaha completed processing (59%) of those reports and referred (4.4%) to the Control and Investigation Board. The Presidency of State Security got referred a 3.37%. In the reports that do not fall within its jurisdiction, Nazaha referred 10% out of those reports to competent entities.
Nazaha's app on smart devices got the most of reports with (29%), followed by Nazaha's website (23.6%), personal attendance (19.2%), and telegram was the at a lowest by (1.5%).
Nazaha's declaration of these statistics is based on the emphasis on transparency protecting integrity and fighting corruption in all its forms, in accordance with the Saudi Vision (2030), its regulation, and the national strategy for protecting integrity and fighting corruption.
