In light of the Corona pandemic, whose harm has included all aspects of life; health, social, political and certainly economic, urgent international action was required to alleviate the repercussions of this virus that paralyzed the world, and has become the concern of everyone; governments, societies and individuals.
In the midst of this global crisis, the Kingdom took the initiative to invite the G20 countries for an unprecedented virtual summit, which brought together the leaders of the G20 countries in addition to countries and international and regional organizations so as to discuss what can be done, and to develop appropriate solutions for this stage and beyond. This was included in the speech of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz at the opening of the summit, as he said: "This humanitarian crisis necessitates a global response, and the world depends on us to join hands and work together to confront it." Finding ways out of this crisis that put the world in an unprecedented position is an international responsibility shouldered by the Kingdom, as the current president of the G20 summit, and comes as an extension of its previous positions that are always in the lead to address events with its positive and constructive positions that serve the good of humanity.
The royal speech included all the effects of this pandemic, even future ones, and called for concerted international efforts in all health and economic fields whose effects have begun to become apparent in many countries of the world.
We are still having a lot of time to overcome it, but with the intense international efforts whose first results came out in the statement of the extraordinary virtual summit, we'll be able to overcome this crisis that we ask Allah Almighty to help humanity out of it. Perhaps one of the important things that resulted from this pandemic is that the world has become aware of the meaning of cooperation and solidarity in order to make our world a better place to live, and pay attention to important matters that did not receive proper attention.
