Free Umrah trip to Makkah for deserving singles

With the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, various Dawa’h centers across the Saudi capital have arranged free Umrah trips to and from Makkah for deserving singles working in public and private sector establishments.
More than 20 luxury coaches from the capital will ferry Umrah pilgrims free-of-charge following noon prayers on Thursday and they are expected to return to Riyadh before Maghrib prayers on Saturday.
“Program beneficiaries will be mainly singles from Asian and Arab countries,”Sheik Mohamed Zafarullah Marikar from the North Dallah Dawah center in Riyadh, told Riyadh Daily on Tuesday.
The free Umrah package will include accommodation, transport and meals for breaking the fast. Muslim expatriates living alone in the capital and its suburbs are entitled to this free package.
The official said that the Dawah center focuses on Muslim singles who cannot afford to perform Umrah and others who wish to participate in the program will also be considered for travel.
Expatriates from the Philippines, Nepal, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Eritrea, Syria and Egypt have already applied for travel on Thursday.
The Rawdah Dawah Center has requested interested pilgrims to pay a refundable deposit of SR 100 on application. The advance has been requested to avoid ‘No Shows’ and it will be refunded to the pilgrims at the commencement of the pilgrimage.
Meanwhile, the Umrah travel operators in the capital have increased package from SR100 to 150 per individual.
A five-day package from Monday through Friday is also available at SR 250 per person in a family.
Some travel agents have arranged similar package for SR 350 per pilgrim with accommodation in Ajyad Elaf hotel in Makkah close to the Holy Mosque.
According to an Umrah travel operator in the capital, the Umrah trip  from Riyadh to Makkah/Madinah will  start from 4 pm on Thursday afternoon and return to its  place of departure on Saturday midnight.
The Umrah travel is handled by a group of government registered travel operators located in the city mainly in places such as Hai Al-Wazart, Batha, Mursalat and Manfouha.
The Umrah buses depart from Hai-Al-Wazarat and SAPTCO bus stand in Riyadh.
There is some 300 Umrah travel operators located in the capital with a large concentration in the city center of Batha.
