Indian Expatriates marked Saudi National Day in a unique style by organizing a blood donation camp in Jeddah
Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamaath (TNTJ), Jeddah region launched a national outreach programme on Friday to mark Saudi National Day, as well as esteeming “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostsav celebration of India@75” teamed up with King Abdul Aziz Hospital, Mahajar, Jeddah as the members successfully organized a blood donation camp to celebrate it in a meaningful manner and express patriotism in a way that could help others and save lives.
The occasion was graced by Eng Khaja Mohideen, Member of Jeddah Tamil Sangam along with many other Community Members where the dedicated members of TNTJ volunteered to donate blood, subsequently the Hospital Management provided full support, and thanked them for organizing the blood camp for a noble cause.
Approximately 45 members volunteered to donate, among them 37 donors donate blood.
The Camp went successful, following all the Covid-19 precaution measures like, temperature screening at blood lab by Hospital security, increased space between chairs, additional cleaning of surfaces, frequent hand washing by staff, hand disinfection materials and wearing masks by all.
Since TNTJ members were well aware of the procedures, the Hospital Management were very much comfortable, each donor underwent screening test for blood pressure & sugar level, haemoglobin count and communicable diseases, prior to donating blood under the supervision of Dr. Ayman - Blood Bank Organizer, King AbdulAziz Hospital, Mahajar, Jeddah.
Mr. Ali Najrafi, Mr. Ahmed Ilyas & Blood Bank teams made special arrangements for donors.

Hospital Management hailed, every year TNTJ organizes a massive campaign for catering to the emergency needs of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, in recognition of TNTJ’s voluntary donation camps, the Saudi Ministry of Health has given TNTJ a number of awards every year during International Blood Donors Day.
TNTJ Volunteer added: “Blood is the most needed element in the human body. As blood groups vary from person to person it’s not always available everywhere, especially when it’s an emergency need. So, we (TNTJ) have joined our hands to give blood as much as we can, and also encourage others to donate the same in future”.
Mr. Naina Mohamed, the member of TNTJ said, “You don’t need a medical degree to save lives, donating blood saves millions of lives. Your little share of blood can give many years of life to someone”.
Mr. Salahudeen, Blood Donation Camp organizer, quoted: “Blood donation causes you nothing but it can mean the world to someone in need, further he added, “Charity does not decrease your wealth and Blood donation is the best among charity”.
TNTJ Members conveyed their happiness to be part of their 23rd blood drive.
Mr. Mohamed Munaff, president of TNTJ, Jeddah region co-ordinated the entire program successfully.
