OIC Secretary General Discusses Preparations for COMIAC Meeting with Senegalese President
The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen paid an official visit today to the Republic of Senegal, where he met with the President of the Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Senegal, Siddiqui Kaba, it was reported here.
During the meeting, they discussed the current issues of the Islamic world as well as the preparations for the 11th session of OIC Standing Committee for Information and Cultural Affairs (COMIAC) to be held in Senegalese capital Dakar in May 2018, the report said.
OIC Secretary General hailed Senegalese President's pivotal role in achieving the stability in the region, praising the outstanding role of the Republic of Senegal in OIC.
OIC Delegation Concludes Visit to Mali
The Delegation of Jeddah-based Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) concluded an official visit to the Republic of Mali designed to evaluate the political situation as well as the social, economic, humanitarian and developmental challenges, following attacks by armed groups and the problems experienced by Mali since 2012.
During the visit, the delegation members met with Hamadou Konate, Minister of Solidarity and Humanitarian Action, who called on OIC and its Member States to provide urgent humanitarian aid to his country in order to face the serious challenges.
The delegation also met with a number of Malian officials.
