SriLankan Airlines hosts grand Iftar in Riyadh
SriLankan Airlines in Riyadh hosted a grand Iftar to all its agents and well-wishers at the Marriott Hotel in Riyadh on Wednesday.
The event hosted by the airline’s manager for central province, Sathira Ariyaratne was attended by more than 100 guests who broke fast at the party.
Speaking to Riyadh Daily, Ariyaratne said that this was the best opportunity for the airline to express its appreciation to all its agents, who have performed well in selling SriLankan throughout Saudi Arabia.
"We are really thankful to all of them for being instrumental for our successful operations in Saudi Arabia", the manager said.
The Sri Lankan embassy in Riyadh was represented by the new Head of the Chancery Madhuka Wickremaratchi, Labor Counselor Indika Thilakaratne and Commercial Secretary Gayan Rajapaksa.
SriLankan operates 18 weekly flights to Saudi Arabia, which include seven daily flights to Riyadh and Jeddah and four to Dammam.
From Colombo, the airline offers convenient connections to Far East and also to major Indian capitals such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Trivandrum, Trichy and Goa.
Wickremaratchi told Riyadh Daily, that it was a great opportunity for diplomats to meet those who help Sri Lanka’s national carrier in its operations. "We are thankful to the airline for giving us the platform for such an interaction", he added.
