Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property Signed First PPH Agreement

Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) signed patent prosecution highway agreement with Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), within the framework of the memorandum of understanding that has been signed on the sidelines of the General Assembly of World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva.
The signing ceremony took place with the presence of SAIP’s CEO Dr. Abdulaziz Alswailem and Director General Dr. Park, desiring to develop bilateral partnership in the field of intellectual property and strengthening the relationship between the two parties to streamline Saudi patent registration procedures in Korea and to attract Korean patent applicants to register their inventions in Saudi Arabia. Thus, enhancing cooperation between the two countries, particularly attracting investment between the two sides.
In addition, the memorandum aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of patent granting procedures in SAIP.
It is worth mentioning that SAIP has finished many basic initiatives and procedures that regulate intellectual property areas and the respect of its rights.
