Free bus services to entertainment areas during Eid days
The Riyadh Development Authority, (RDA) will provide a free shuttle bus service to transport visitors to the venues of the of Eid Al –Fitr festivities at Qasr Al-Hukum plazas beginning the day of the festival.
Riyadh Governor Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz will flag off the metropolitan Eid Al-Fitr celebrations in Riyadh for a period of three days from the Ramadan festival day.
The shuttle service, free-of-charge, will be provided from the car park to the locations of the entertainment places.
Moreover, the visitors of Eid Al-Fitr celebrations at Qasr Al-Hukum plazas will get a 30 percent discount offered by key app-based cab service providers such as Uber and Careem on the trips to and from the sites of the events.
Riyadh Mayor Tariq Al-Faris Al-Faris, who visited the entertainment sites said that there seems to be an unprecedented response from participants as well as from the members of the public. He said that the participating groups at the variety shows have increased this year to 300 from the 80 groups, who took part last year. He added that the event will be also held in the west of Riyadh.
A total of 200 events in 38 locations in three days, with more than 600 people involved in the organization, along with several authorities and teams of volunteers will actively take part in the festivities.
The Riyadh Development Authority has chalked out a comprehensive program which features diverse social, recreational and cultural activities that would please all residents and visitors from the capital.
The program dubbed ‘Rizana Eid’ will take place during the three days of Eid from 4 pm to 12 pm. The venues of the events will be spread out in a fair manner in places such as , Al-Masmak Square and Al-Thamiri Avenue to allow visitors to move smoothly and freely .
The official celebration of Eid al-Fitr is held every year at the Al-Hukum Palace, which is a cultural landmark and a historical memory that embodies the meaning of national unity and the establishment of the Kingdom and unifying it by the founding King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud.
The Al-Adl Square will be the venue of the official opening celebrations, which comprises a selection of folkloric activities and shows including Ardah (folk Saudi dance that functions as a display of power).
Furthermore, Al-Masmak Plaza will host a children's theater offering a wide variety of entertaining programs, contests and a play titled "Forest of Colors".
The live shows, calligraffiti, cartoon digital painting, henna art platforms, productive families’ kiosks, food trucks will also bring carnival atmosphere to Al-Thumairi Street (Al-Thumairi Avenue) during the celebrations.
Diriyah and Al-Hukum Palace stand out as the symbols of the Saudi heritage architecture besides being the most important locations in the early history of the Kingdom.
Diriyah, the first Saudi capital was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010. The historic Musmak Palace stands out in the Qasr Al-Hakam area.
The Qasr Al-Hukum area covers Suwaiqah commercial complex, Al-Muaiqiliyah souk, Dayrah, Zal and Justice Square, Al-Safah and Imam Muhammad bin Saud squares and the courtyard of the Al-Musmak Castle.
