Digital Transformation in Saudi Arabia
According to Naqshbandi, the Saudi government has been emphasizing the importance of technology in its strategic plans for several years and has made digital investments a top priority. “The pandemic hit us at a time when digital transformation was becoming mainstream and our recent research shows that despite a significant curtailment in ICT budgets, the vast majority of Saudi organizations intend to continue with their DX initiatives as planned. Interestingly, there is a rising sentiment among progressive Saudi organizations to initiate new DX projects to meet changing customer and operational needs”, he further elaborated.
IDC Digital Excellence Awards
Hamza Naqshbandi Revealed: “The IDC Digital Excellence Awards are probably the most recognizable tech/digital awards in Saudi Arabia. This was the third edition of the awards to be held in the Kingdom and we honored leading IT visionaries and pioneers across four categories — Excellence in Digital Innovation, Excellence in Line-of-Business Transformation, CISO of the Year, and CIO of the Year.
He also added: “The competition was extremely fierce, with more than 70 nominations received from across the public and private sectors. The winners were selected by an esteemed panel of national ICT leaders and prominent CIOs following a robust process of screening, shortlisting, and presenting to the judges”.
