Helicopter with Seven on Board Crashes in Nepal

A helicopter with seven people on board crashed on Saturday in a remote area of central Nepal, officials said.

According to dpa, the helicopter, belonging to private operator
Altitude Air, crashed in a forest in the Dhading district on Saturday
morning as it was returning to Kathmandu from the mountainous Gorkha
region, said Raj Kumar Chhetri, managing director of Tribhuvan
International Airport in Kathmandu.

"We have sent rescue teams in helicopters. They have located the site, but they have not been able to land," he said.

He said the area's remoteness and bad weather were making it hard to carry out rescue operation.

The crash site is about 80 kilometres north-west of Kathmandu.
