Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Inaugurates Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud inaugurated at Al-Yamamah palace here today the Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program which targets 8 promising sectors in the production, manufacturing and marketing of Arab coffee, beekeeping and production of honey, the development of cultivation of rose and aromatic plants, the production, manufacturing and marketing of fruits, the enhancement of the capacities of small fishers and fish farmers, the development of the small livestock sector and the cultivation of rain fed crops, as well as the enhancement of the revenues of small holdings and agricultural activities.
Then, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques watched with the audience a visual presentation on the program and its target sectors.
On the occasion, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques delivered the following speech, "I am happy to meet you today, and I am always feeling happiness when I see the competent in our country in all fields, thanks to Allah Almighty. In any way, this is a blessing from Allah Almighty. After all, the existence of the means of education across all the kingdom of schools, universities and colleges makes the Kingdom sufficient by its citizens and this is a great blessing. Yet, the greatest blessing is the security and stability in our country, which has made the work in every field going on, and the largest one of all is that our country is the land of the Two Holy Mosques. And I have the honor and any one of our citizens to be servants of the Two Holy Mosques. We praise Allah Almighty for the blessings, praying to Him for protecting our country from whoever wants to harm it.
Then, the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Engineer Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli delivered a speech in which he thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for patronizing the launching of the Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program as a fruit of "The Kingdom's Vision 2030" which seeks to achieve a balanced economic and social development among the various segments of the society through the optimal and sustainable exploitation of renewable natural, agricultural and hydrological resources in several stages, starting from the first phase today until the year 2025.
He pointed out that the program, since its adoption with an amount of 8.750 billion riyals in addition to 3 billion riyals from the Agricultural Development Fund, was rejoiced by farmers and their families across the regions of the Kingdom due to its social and economic benefits which exceed the allocated financial investments.
The ceremony was attended by a number of officials.
