KACST partners with MAWHIBA develop local Tech Talents
A total of 65 students talented students from all parts of the Kingdom have participated in various projects in more than 20 research centers at the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) during this year , an official from the City announced here on Thursday.
The program , " Generation of Science and Technology " carried out in cooperation with the King Abdul-Aziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (MAWHIBA) is expected to harness local talents in the field of a science and technology for the benefit of the nation.
The “Generation of Science and Technology” program also contributes to development of the educational quality in the Kingdom to be among the top 20 or 30 best countries in the world. This step will serve KACST’s vision of promoting a knowledge-based society in the Kingdom, supports the sustainable development of the country, enhances the local technology output, and enriches the market through exploring new scientific talents. This program also adds value to the local technology sector and enhances the competitiveness in support of the national economy.
The partnership between KASCT and MAWHIBA also supports Saudi students to become innovators and to deepen cooperation between the two foundations in building a knowledge-based society to serve the Kingdom's sustainable development in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.
The KACST is keen on launching several initiatives to create opportunities for students and innovators in the fields of science and technology that will leverage the resources of scientific research and technical development in the Kingdom. At the same time, KACST is interested in becoming a leading scientific foundation to support innovation and scientific knowledge in Saudi society.
The City also seeks to cooperate with government agencies and scientific foundations in the Kingdom and build partnerships to enhance scientific cooperation. MAWHIBA is one of these foundations that was involved in other partnerships with KASCT through cooperating to implement the summer ITHRAA Program 2018 in Riyadh, which aims to develop Saudi tech talents through participating in full-time programs.
