Dr. Al-Issa launches relief and developmental projects in Senegal
The Muslim World League has launched a raft of urgent relief projects in the Republic of Senegal. The Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Sheikh Dr. Muhammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, has opened a set of medical camps together with founding vital facilities throughout Senegal, especially in villages and rural areas.
The Secretary General of the Muslim World League launched the emergency relief program in Malika district on the outskirt of the Senegalese capital Dakar in the presence of governor of the region Mr. Momer Tal Gagga. More than 1,500 food baskets were distributed to poor families. In addition, the Muslim World League launched an emergency relief campaign by using trucks loaded with food aid to the Senegalese region Kolda that has recently suffered from a big fire, a matter that required an urgent relief intervention
In addition, The Muslim World League launched the eye operations medical program for treating cataract at Dakar-based hospital fully financed by the Muslim World League. Hundreds of eye surgeries have been conducted for patients, who could not pay for their treatment. All surgeries have been carried out by a specialized medical team at the Senegalese capital Dakar Hospital.
In the Senegalese city Thies, the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, laid the foundation stone for building Al-Afiah Poly clinic that is considered the first of its kind in the region, to serve thousands of people of the city and scores of neighboring villages free of charge. Furthermore, Dr. Al-Issa launched, in the same city, the operation of the construction of the Center entitled “Dar al-Hikma” for Arab and Islamic studies in the presence of a group of people of the region who extended gratitude and appreciation for humanitarian and developmental relief programs that serve the people of the region.
Meanwhile, Dr. Al-Issa, at the end of his tour, expressed his happiness with the projects and initiatives launched by the Muslim World League, most notably the urgent relief campaigns that benefited the poor, orphans and widows. He pointed out that the real criterion in communication with everyone is the human standard ordered by our Islam with the aim of providing services and assistance to the needy regardless of race, ethnicity, color or religion.
